S01E12 - Talking Trauma With Therapist, Sean Carpenter

Season #1

In this episode Happy and Sean Carpenter, Marriage & Family Therapist, get deep into the topic of trauma as they discuss different forms of therapy and much more!

Sean has a deep passion for helping people find liberation from problems that bring them to therapy. Understanding why we do things the way we do them is critical to growth, change and healing. He grounds his work in warmth, compassion, authenticity and an understanding of how thoughts and emotions relate to neuro/physiological processes, as well as how past experiences inform current beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. His aim is to help you gain clarity into underlying causes of problems, provide strategies for coping and support you in taking risks and trying new ways of being, to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life. He works with individuals, couples, families and groups on a wide variety of issues and concerns, including but not limited to: LGBTQIA+-related issues, PTSD and trauma, anxiety and depression, unsatisfying relationships, overwhelming emotions, self-esteem and identity issues, sexual concerns, family discord, life transitions and career and work challenges. As a queer identified therapist, his experience finding his own sense of self-acceptance heavily informs his practice. While not all therapists are the right fit for all clients, he does his best to align his practice to the unique needs of each client. While his technique varies, his style is always grounded in warmth, authenticity, compassion and humor.   https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/sean-carpenter-los-angeles-ca/930620
